Daniel

Daniel, The Vision and Prophecy, Highlights

Chapter 1
1 In the third year of the reign of
Jehoiakim king of Judah came
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

8 But Daniel purposed in his
heart that he would not defile him-
self.....

Chapter 2   20 Daniel answered and said,
Blessed be the name of God for
ever and ever: for wisdom and
might are His:
21 And He changeth the times and
the seasons: He removeth kings
and setteth up kings: He giveth wis-
dom unto the wise, and knowledge
to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and
secret things: He knoweth what is
in the darkness, and the light dwell-
eth with Him.

44 And in the days of these
kings shall the God of heaven set
up a kingdom, which shall never
be destroyed: and the kingdom
shall not be left to other people,
but it shall break in pieces and con-
sume all these kingdoms, and it
shall stand for ever.

Chapter 3

13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his
rage and fury commanded to bring
.....................these
men before the king.
14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said
unto them...
15 ......ye fall down and worship
the image which I have made; well;
but if ye worship not, ye shall be
cast the same hour into the midst of
a burning fiery furnace; and who is
that God that shall deliver you out
of my hands?
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-
nego, answered and said...
17 If it be so, our God whom we
serve is able to deliver us from the
burning fiery furnace, and He will
deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto
thee, O king, that we will not serve
thy gods, nor worship the golden
image which thou hast set up.

Chapter 4 17 This matter is by the decree of
the watchers, and the demand by
the word of the holy ones: to the
intent that the living may know
that the most High ruleth in the
kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever He will, and setteth up
over it the basest of men.

34 And at the end of the days I
Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine
eyes unto heaven, and mine under-
standing returned unto me, and I
blessed the most High, and I
praised and honoured Him that
liveth for ever, whose dominion is
an everlasting dominion, and His
kingdom is from generation to gen-
eration;
35 And all the inhabitants of the
earth are reputed as nothing: and
He doeth according to His will in
the army of heaven, and among
the inhabitants of the earth: and
none can stay His hand, or say unto
Him, What doest Thou?

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise
and extol and honour the King of
heaven, all whose works are truth,
and His ways judgement, and
those that walk in pride He is able
to abase.

Chapter 5 23 ..............and the
God in whose hand thy breath is ,
thou hast not glorified:

Chapter 6 20 ......and the king spake
and said unto Daniel, O Daniel, ser-
vant of the living God. is thy God,
whom thou servest continually,
able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the
king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent His angel,
and hath shut the lion's mouths,
that they have not hurt me: foras-
much as before Him innonency was
found in me; and also before thee,
O king, have I done no hurt.

Chapter 7  8 I considered the horns. and, be-
hold, there came up among them
another little horn, before whom
there were three of the first horns
plucked up by the roots: and, be-
hold, in this horn were eyes like
the eyes of man, and a mouth
speaking great things.
9 I beheld till the thrones were
cast down, and the Ancient of days
did sit, whose garment was white
as snow, and the hair of His head
like pure wool: His throne was
like the fiery flame, and His wheels
as burning fire.

13 I saw in the night visions, and,
behold, one like the Son of man
came with the couds of heaven, and
came to the Ancient of days, and
they brought Him near before Him.
14 And there was given Him do-
minion, and glory, and a kingdom,
that all people, nations, and lan-
guages, should serve Him: His do-
minion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away, and His
kingdom that which shall not be
destroyed.

Chapter 8 23 And in the latter time of their
kingdom, when the transgressors
are come to the full, a king of
fierce countenance, and understand-
ing dark sentences, shall stand
up.
24 And his power shall be mighty  but not by his own power:
 and he shall destroy wonderfully,
and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy
people.
25 And through his policy also
he shall cause craft to prosper in his
hand; and he shall magnify him-
self in his heart, and by peace shall
destroy many: he shall also stand
up against the Prince of princes;
but he shall be broken without
hand.

Comments Vision comes only from God.
The world is ruled in darkness. Ephesians 6:12

Peace and freedom at times may be removed by rulers of darkness.
This happened with Daniel but he remained true and faithful.
His hope was in the Living God, not in rulers.

The Living God changes times and seasons.
He removes kings and sets up kings.
During the time of worldwide spiritual darkness
the God of heaven will set up His kingdom
which shall stand forever.

Some world rulers of darkness seek to destroy
those who do not bow before their god.
God is able to deliver those true unto Him alone.

God rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomsoever He will.
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth.
He will have all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the
truth and extol and honor the God of heaven. I Timothy 2:1-8

Worldly kings may not glorify the God of heaven.
God delivers those who serve him from the mouth of lions
and from worldly rulers who seek to destroy.

In the last days ungodly kings will seek world dominance.
Their thrones will be cast down.
The Ancient of Days will remain.
The Son of man will come with the clouds of heaven.
He will have glory and everlasting dominion
that all people and nations should serve Him.

In the latter time one empowered by Satan shall destroy many.
He shall magnify himself and promise world peace.
Ultimately he shall make war against the Prince of princes. He will be destroyed without hand.
II Thessalonians 2:3-12 I Thessalonians 5:1-10

Freedom and peace may be removed.
Rulers of darkness may seek to destroy.
God is a stronghold in the day of trouble.
He knows those who take refuge in Him. Nahum 1:7 NASV

Hope is only in the Living God.
Hope is in the coming King.
Salvation is only in the Lord Jesus Christ.

If prayer without wrath and doubting is made
and kings and all in authority come to salvation in Jesus Christ,
we may live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness.
