CHAPTER ONE

The Word of the Lord Came  1-4

The people put themselves before God

They did not want to build the house of the Lord

Consider your ways  5,6

They put themselves first before God

The money they earned did not go far enough

There must be a change of heart!  7,8

Go up to the mountain and bring wood, and build the Lord’s house.

God must be honored and glorified

The people served themselves, not God.

The house of God must not be built with worldly material.

It must be built with wood from above.  Hebrews 12:22-24

Heaven must come down!                                                                                                                                                            It must be built upon the glory and majesty of God, His unmerited favor through the death, burial,      and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the outpouring of His Holy Spirit upon all flesh.

God called for a Spiritual drought upon the land.  9-11

God blew it away because everyone built their own while God’s house was desolate.                                    Their ground brought forth no fruit during the invitation. Their was no new wine, no souls were           being saved, no anointing oil of the Holy Spirit. There was no dew from Heaven. The House of               God lied waste!!

The people showed reverence for the Lord.  12

The messenger of the Lord spoke the message of the Lord.  13

“I am with you, saith the Lord.”

The Lord stirred the people.  14

“and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.”

CHAPTER TWO

God spoke unto those who saw the former glory!  1-5

“Take courage, take courage, take courage, declares the Lord, and work; for I am with you, says           the Lord of hosts.”                                                                                                                                                                     Just as God brought His people Israel out of Egypt, He called His church out of this world to be in       heavenly places in Christ Jesus. “My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!”

“For thus says the Lord of hosts, Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth,…and I will shake all nations;”

Today in 2015, there is a whole lot of shaking going on.

There are signs in the moon and the stars. Tropical storms and hurricanes occur almost daily.              Earthquakes and mudslides happen unexpectedly. The waves and sea roar and fire sweeps across      dry land. Nations are in political turmoil and financial crisis.

The Desire of All Nations Shall Come!!!   7  KJV

“and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.”

Nations today are seeking something to believe, someone to put their trust in, answers to hopeless      situations. Multitudes of people today are filled with loneliness and empty desire, and have no              hope, without God in the world.

But there is a message of hope from God’s Word for today.  “The Desire of all nations shall come.”    What people are seeking for today cannot be found on earth!  The Lord Jesus Christ shall come from above in glory and splendor. Only He can fill the empty desire of the inner man with glory, and the fullness of God.  “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former.”   8,9                                                                   “And in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.”                                                                                     Jesus Christ is Prince of Peace

When He comes peace will cover the earth.                                                                                                                     There swill be no terror and murder, no anger and violence, no weapons of mass destruction.               Micah 4:2-4                                                                                                                                                                                   Psalm 46:8-10

They were not right in the sight of God.  10-14

Because they put themselves firt before God, even what they offered God was unclean.                              God smote their labors, but they still did not put Him first.  15-17

The day they turned and laid the foundation of the house of the Lord, God began to bless them. 18,19

Today as world powers try to overthrow all rule of God, people need to see the glory of God.

God still reigns upon His Throne!!!  20-22                                                                                                                           He will not be overthrown! There is cause for those who trust Him to rejoice. He will overthrow           the thrones of kingdoms. He will destroy the strength of earthly kingdoms. He will overthrow               military power and weapons of mass destruction.

Those who have shown reverence in service for the Lord will be given special favor in that day.  23            “For I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.”

Bless His Holy Name!
